Hydrogen Water & Inhalation Therapy Suggested Protocol

Starting Gradually

If you’re new to hydrogen therapy, consider a graduated approach:

Week 1: Begin with hydrogen water —1-2 glasses daily—

Week 2: Increase hydrogen water to 4-6 glasses daily

Week 3: Add short inhalation sessions (15-20 minutes) every other day

Week 4+: Gradually increase inhalation duration and frequency based on your response and goals

This gradual introduction helps you identify your optimal protocol while minimizing any temporary adjustment effects. After your first month of ramping up, consider this sampler daily protocol:

Sample Daily Protocol

Morning: Start the day with 1-2 glasses of hydrogen-rich water on an empty stomach. This may enhance absorption and provide antioxidant protection as you begin daily activities.

Throughout the day: Continue drinking hydrogen water as part of normal hydration—aim for 1-2 liters total, which matches protocols used in most clinical studies

Pre-exercise: For athletic applications, consider a 15-30 minute inhalation session before training, or drink hydrogen water 30 minutes prior to exercise.

Post-exercise: Hydrogen water supports rehydration while delivering therapeutic hydrogen. Some athletes also use brief inhalation sessions (15-20 minutes) for accelerated recovery.

Evening: A 30-60 minute inhalation session before bed may support sleep quality and overnight recovery. Research suggests pre-sleep hydrogen exposure can enhance the body’s natural restorative processes.
